I went to class yesterday to find no one here, so I am going to avoid repeating that mistake and I'm making it formal that todays meeting on Thanks Giving is canceled.
That being said, I was reviewing Chris's observation that the CLIPS program on fishing functioned like an SQL statement, and after consideration, I think it is the opposite, if anything. With SQL, we have a large set of tuples of data, and then we apply a single rule on the data for form a set of results.
In the case of Clips, while we still have tuples and can likely describe everything in set theory, it is not a subwet of Codd theory, which SQL is. Instead, you have a large number of rules and we throw facts at the rules, which remain static, although there can be chained, and determine an output, which might not even be directly predicated in the facts.
