Hello
I'm a graduate student at LIU/Brooklyn working on a thesis with
Artificial Intelligence in determining cladistic/phylogeny graphs. I
couldn't help but notice that the video for your announcement of a
Titanosaurus is being installed, build from casts created from 3d scans
taken in the field. That is an extraordinary accomplishment.
How is the scans being taken and what file format is used? And how are
they reproduced? I'm interested because those files can be analyzed by
software, which is the area that my thesis is in.
Can we come to see you or your staff to discuss this? Are you also
scanning your selves of fossil materials in inventory? I'm studying
material by another student of yours, Steve Brusatte, on Tyrannosaurs to
understand the state of the art currently in the field. So we would not
mind a longer term dialog, if you can support such an investment of time.
