The New York State Department of Labor is hiring Labor Services Representative/Trainee 1/2! As a Labor Services Representative, you would assist customers and provide a broad range of services to jobseekers and employers both on an individual basis and through group presentations.


The Labor Services Representative will:



  • Interview customers to evaluate the nature of services desired, obtaining a complete work history including job experience, education, skills, salary ranges and job preferences.

  • Identify barriers to employment and develop solutions to these barriers. Intensive job placement assistance is key through developing skills-based resume, successful employment interview coaching, providing continuing job leads, conducting employment referrals and advocating for the job seeker when applying for a job.

  • Provide information on resources available through the Department of Labor


Required Qualifications:



  • You must have a Bachelor's degree.


**Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. Compensation: $49,363 to $74,135 Annually


The New York State Department of Labor is hiring Labor Services Representative/Trainee 1/2! As a Labor Services Representative, you would assist customers and provide a broad range of services to jobseekers and employers both on an individual basis and through group presentations.


The Labor Services Representative will:



  • Interview customers to evaluate the nature of services desired, obtaining a complete work history including job experience, education, skills, salary ranges and job preferences.

  • Identify barriers to employment and develop solutions to these barriers. Intensive job placement assistance is key through developing skills-based resume, successful employment interview coaching, providing continuing job leads, conducting employment referrals and advocating for the job seeker when applying for a job.

  • Provide information on resources available through the Department of Labor


Required Qualifications:



  • You must have a Bachelor's degree.
