Perl Weekly=20

https://perlweekly.com/

You can read the newsletter on the web, if you prefer.
https://perlweekly.com/archive/646.html

Hi there,

December is normally the busiest month of the year as we
get to participate in two events i.e. 24 Pull Requests (
https://24pullrequests.com ) and Advent Calendars for many
programming languages e.g. Perl ( https://perladvent.org/2023 ), Raku (
https://raku-advent.blog ), The Weekly Challenge (
https://theweeklychallenge.org/blog/advent-calendar-2023 ). As mentioned in
the weekly newsletter ( https://perlweekly.com/archive/641.html ) by
Gabor Szabo, there is an aggregation of Advent Calendars (
http://lenjaffe.com/AdventPlanet ) managed by Len Jaffe.

In the last edition ( https://perlweekly.com/archive/644.html ) of
newsletter, I requested for sponsor. To my surprise, I have had few offers
came through. It is still early stage of discussion. I am hopefull
something positive will come out of it. I am keeping fingers crossed.

Have you contributed to Perl Advent Calendar 2023?

If not then you should and share your real life experience with Perl. You
can find the details on GitHub repository (
https://github.com/perladvent/Perl-Advent ). I missed the deadline last
year but this year I really didn't want to miss the train. Luckily, thanks
to Olaf Alders and team, my contribution got accepted and
merged. It is now allocated Day 10 (
https://perladvent.org/2023/2023-12-10.html ) in the calendar.

Enjoy the fesive season and look after yourself.

Your editor: Mohammad S. Anwar.

Rust is, in a way, orthogonal to Perl. It is a rather verbose language wi=
th
a steep learning curve. However it is much faster than Perl and can be
cross-compiled and easily distributed. It provides memory safety though
it takes time to get used-to the ownership model. On the other hand it
makes it rather easy to write threaded applications. I've been writing
about Rust for a while on the Rust Maven site. You are invited to

=20

Hi there,

=20

December is normally the busiest month of the year=
as we get to participate in two events i.e. sts.com">24 Pull Requests and Advent Calendars for man=
y programming languages e.g. Perla>, Raku, eklychallenge.org/blog/advent-calendar-2023">The Weekly Challenge. As m=
entioned in the weekly =
newsletter
by Gabor Szabo, there is an aggregation of =
Advent Calendars managed b=
y Len Jaffe.

=20

In the last edi=
tion
of newsletter, I requested for sponsor. To my surprise, I have had=
few offers came through. It is still early stage of discussion. I am hopef=
ull something positive will come out of it. I am keeping fingers crossed.

=20

Have you contributed to Perl Advent Calendar 2023?

=20

If not then you should and share your real life experience with Per=
l. You can find the details on l-Advent">GitHub repository. I missed the deadline last year but this y=
ear I really didn't want to miss the train. Luckily, thanks to Olaf=
Alders
and team, my contribution got accepted and merged. It is n=
ow allocated Day 10=
in the calendar.

=20

Enjoy the fesive season and look after yourself.

Perl Weekly=20

You can read the newsletter on the web, if you prefer.
https://perlweekly.com/archive/646.html

Hi there,

December is normally the busiest month of the year as we
get to participate in two events i.e. 24 Pull Requests (
https://24pullrequests.com ) and Advent Calendars for many
programming languages e.g. Perl ( https://perladvent.org/2023 ), Raku (
https://raku-advent.blog ), The Weekly Challenge (
https://theweeklychallenge.org/blog/advent-calendar-2023 ). As mentioned in
the weekly newsletter ( https://perlweekly.com/archive/641.html ) by
Gabor Szabo, there is an aggregation of Advent Calendars (
http://lenjaffe.com/AdventPlanet ) managed by Len Jaffe.

In the last edition ( https://perlweekly.com/archive/644.html ) of
newsletter, I requested for sponsor. To my surprise, I have had few offers
came through. It is still early stage of discussion. I am hopefull
something positive will come out of it. I am keeping fingers crossed.

Have you contributed to Perl Advent Calendar 2023?

If not then you should and share your real life experience with Perl. You
can find the details on GitHub repository (
https://github.com/perladvent/Perl-Advent ). I missed the deadline last
year but this year I really didn't want to miss the train. Luckily, thanks
to Olaf Alders and team, my contribution got accepted and
merged. It is now allocated Day 10 (
https://perladvent.org/2023/2023-12-10.html ) in the calendar.

Enjoy the fesive season and look after yourself.

Rust is, in a way, orthogonal to Perl. It is a rather verbose language wi=
th
a steep learning curve. However it is much faster than Perl and can be
cross-compiled and easily distributed. It provides memory safety though
it takes time to get used-to the ownership model. On the other hand it
makes it rather easy to write threaded applications. I've been writing
about Rust for a while on the Rust Maven site. You are invited to
