Hello Ruben Safir,

Volunteers are an essential part of the Free Software Foundation’s
(FSF) work, and we’re so grateful for every minute that so many of you
have put in to endorse and expand free software. If you’ve been
looking for another opportunity to chip in, here’s an easy way to make
a difference: every Friday, we host an IRC meeting to improve and add
to the [Free Software Directory][1]!

[1]: https://directory.fsf.org/wiki/Main_Page

The Free Software Directory is a catalog of free software
online. Co-founded by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and
Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the directory currently contains over
16,500 packages, and is in constant usage by visitors eager to
discover free software, explore information about version control,
documentation, and licensing, and to study trends in free software. So
far this year, as of this writing, the Directory has welcomed 486,510
unique visitors, with an average of 69,501 each month!

You can help us do this crucial work to give people access to free
software which has only free dependencies, and runs on a free
operating system: join us on IRC in the \#fsf channel [on
Libera.Chat][2] to add new entries, update existing ones, and talk
about free software. FSF staff and other volunteers are there to help
you get started and learn how to do all this and more! Meetings are
Friday at 12:00-15:00 EDT (16:00 to 19:00 UTC); to see the meeting
start time in your time zone, run this in GNU bash: date
--date='TZ="America/New_York" 12:00 this Fri'.

[2]: https://www.fsf.org/news/fsf-and-gnu-move-official-irc-channels-to-libera-chat-network

If you can't wait or don't have the time to jump onto IRC on Friday
afternoons, you can still help: check out the [Free Software Directory
Participation Guide][3] for instructions.

[3]: https://directory.fsf.org/wiki/Free_Software_Directory:Participate

No matter how you participate, improving the Free Software Directory
is an easy, nuts-and-bolts way to make a contribution to the free
software movement, bringing us a tinier step every day to a truly free
society. We look forward to seeing you on IRC!

Happy hacking,

Donald R. Robertson, III, J.D.

Hello Ruben Safir,

Volunteers are an essential part of the Free Software Foundation’s
(FSF) work, and we’re so grateful for every minute that so many of you
have put in to endorse and expand free software. If you’ve been
looking for another opportunity to chip in, here’s an easy way to make
a difference: every Friday, we host an IRC meeting to improve and add
to the Free Software Directory!

You can help us do this crucial work to give people access to free
software which has only free dependencies, and runs on a free
operating system: join us on IRC in the #fsf channel on
Libera.Chat
to add new entries, update existing ones, and talk
about free software.

If you can't wait or don't have the time to jump onto IRC on Friday
afternoons, you can still help: check out the Free Software Directory
Participation Guide
for instructions.

Licensing and Compliance Manager
