Essentially what is happening is that socialist and communists are
conspiring on REDDIT (Aaron Schwartz's ghost lives on) to whip up prices
on failing businesses and their stocks through the options market by
artificially inflating stock prices, and bankrupting the hegde funds and
the general market. Prices in a social media feeding frenzy
artificially rise in a ponzi like scheme, regardless of the health of
the underlining stock, in the attempt to purposely bankrupt Wall Street
firms that are in the market who invested in contracts based on the
economic data that the stock would drop in price.
So you have a stock like Gamestop which lost 20 million dollars in the
last year selling for $30 a share. Based on that, financial firms
expect the price to drop to say, $7 in a month. Now an options firm has
a contract to sell gamestop for $10. The contract has a buyer and a
seller. If you think the stock will fall to $7 based on performance,
you want to be a seller in that contract. Then when the month comes by,
if the price is $7 (your prediction was right), then you are selling
stock on that day for $10 and you have a $3 profit per share. If
suddenly, gamestop goes up to $200 a share because of a political effort
by agitators on Reddit, then in a month you need to by shares at $200
and sell them for $10 ($190 loss).
Conspiring to fix stock prices is a crime. You are not allowed to do it
in the elevator at Goldman Sacks and You can not be allowed to do it on
REDDIT.
COVID-19 has created chaos on the market in two ways: 1) Millions of
people are sitting around underemployed at home following Communists and
Socialist on the internet 2) Millions of businesses are failing to turn
a profit because the economy is dieing. The entire market is now
exposed to price manipulation that is detached from geuinine economic
realities...just like it was in 1929.
It is a tinderbox, brought to you by your 24/7 need to be on your cellphone.
