It is not the insular they hate, although they hate that as well. They
hate that community and education are core to being Jewish and that
practicing Judaism is impossible without daily synagogue and yeshivot
attendance. The boys and men put on their tfellin in congregations of
at least 10 men, EVERY morning. The synagogue and Yeshivot are all
about the same thing and are called Beis Kenessets or Houses of
Learning. Group study and participation is the key form of worship and
a substitution for the Temple sacrifices. They have done this
relentlessly, regardless of violence and plague for over 2 thousand
years and there is a direct line of learning from Moses to today.
Just learn about the Meir Yeshivah, for example, that survived the
Holocaust through extraordinary heroism

Cuomo really doesn't understand he is out of his depth. The largest
group that is rioting in Borough Park is the Bobov Hassidim. They had
been annihilated in the Holocaust and rebuilt from just 300 people in
