ghts movement, a legendary group of Black jazz artists gathered in Harlem t=
o be forever captured in the iconic photo, =E2=80=9CA Great Day in Harlem.=
=E2=80=9D Today, galvanized by demonstrations against racially-motivated vi=
olence and systemic racism, we find ourselves at the beginning of another c=
ivil rights era. And once again there is the need to document Black artists=
who are centered at the intersection of arts and activism. You are invited=
to join =E2=80=9CA Great Day in New York.=E2=80=9D We will come together t=
o commemorate the 62nd anniversary of the original photo and celebrate the =
legacy of Black activism in the arts. This Wednesday, August 12 at 9:30AM,=
we will meet at the site of the first Black Lives Matter Mural in the stat=
e of New York. Organized by The Billie Holiday Theatre in partnership with =
Councilmember Robert E. Cornegy, the mural is located at 1368 Fulton Street=
