We bid farewell to Commander Niv and Watch Rav Simcha Dear Ruben, This wee=
k we entered the Hebrew month of Av and are in the 9 day period before the =
saddest day in the Jewish calendar, Tisha B=E2=80=99av. In the video below,=
Rabbi Hochbaum asks, =E2=80=9Cwhen someone is sad and crying, where do the=
y want to run? A child especially wants to run home to get a hug from their=
parents.=E2=80=9D We may be lonely and broken from the loss of the two Tem=
ples, but we also need to look ahead and see that one day the Holy Temple w=
ill stand on its pillars, and the whole world will come to Jerusalem and be=
drawn to its light. Let us hope and pray for a speedy end to Corona and th=
e building of the Temple in its place. Congratulations to Yishai Fleisher f=
or being published (again) in Newsweek magazine. Another well-written and c=
omprehensive article addressing Peter Beinart and others who think like him=
. We bid farewell to one of the most heroic soldiers I know. Deputy Command=
er N. has gone into many military situations at great personal risk. He has=
been severely injured on several occasions and carries those scars with hi=
m today. He will not boast about his service in the IDF, but he had to be r=
ecognized for his extraordinary efforts to actively and proactively keep th=
e people of Israel and visitors safe. May Hashem bless him as he moves forw=
ard and may we merit to have more outstanding commanders as the messengers =
of Hashem (G-d). Even though there is still no tourism, we are planning for=
an enthusiastic return when we survive this Corona situation. Therefore, w=
e are making safety and aesthetic improvements around Hebron. Many Hebron k=
ids are looking for a way to spend their summers outside, especially as mos=
t camps have been closed. Many of them have volunteered to participate in t=
he =E2=80=98greening of Hebron=E2=80=99 program doing some gardening, paint=
ing, and cleaning up the city. We miss all of you so much and hope these sm=
all changes will enhance your next visit. In order to continue our mission =

government or tourism), we need your help. Please consider making a gift fo=
