This JAMA article and the further reports fly in the face of established
medical data and reports. The idea that we can eliminate the virus in 4
weeks is absurd, especially in the face of clear evidence that the
Coronas WUHAN virus is transmitted in house cats and other mammals.
It flies in the face of clear evidence that humans are not capable of
retaining sterile control in the public for long periods of times. The
allegorical reports of salons with masked vendors only tells us
something we are well aware of, that Salons are potential spreading
centers that likely require extra professional precautions and that the
virus spread is not as contagious as been presumed.
The call for universal masking is a sham, and a shame. The statement
that if we had universal masking for 4-6 weeks that we can end this
pandemic is dangerous thing to say, and flatly medically and
scientifically wrong.
The only thing that will put an end to this virus is hurd immunity,
either by contagation or vaccine. There is no other means of ending it.
Every time we lock down and reopen, we spread virus. It is not going to
change. The virus sits and waits for us. There is nothing we can do.
It spreads through other animals and in reseviors, and waits like a
tiger. Masking is only useful in controlled environments, like hospital
ORs and Infection Disease control rooms. Comparing Masking while
shopping, changing diapers, teaching children, and riding a bus to
masking while in the OR is absurd and dishonest.
