Hello, I am another person=C2=A0 that did not like the show. It is indeed=C2=A0 to= o much giggling, smiling. Too amateurish... I personally think that the presenter (Emily) does not seem to grasp well t= he science of paleontology. And why should she? after all=C2=A0 she is not = a degreed paleontologist !. I think it depicts paleontology in a too ideali= stic way i.e. you just dig here and there and there it is ! Museum quality = piece ! The=C2=A0 reality is that field work is hard work many times under = harsh conditions.=C2=A0
But I did like to see Native Americans=C2=A0 participating in the show, sho= wing that they also do some paleontology in their lands.

2pt; color: #000000;">I am another person that did not like the show.= It is indeed too much giggling, smiling. Too amateurish...iv>
2pt; color: #000000;">I personally think that the presenter (Emily) does no= t seem to grasp well the science of paleontology. And why should she? after= all she is not a degreed paleontologist !. I think it depicts paleon= tology in a too idealistic way i.e. you just dig here and there and there i= t is ! Museum quality piece ! The reality is that field work is hard = work many times under harsh conditions.
2pt; color: #000000;">But I did like to see Native Americans particip= ating in the show, showing that they also do some paleontology in their lan= ds.

Oh, grow up.
Having talked with Emily Graslie before, during, and after the filming= of this, there was indeed a conscious choice of representation in this sho= w. And the idea was that after fifty years of paleo-documentaries on TV, ma= ybe having ONE that doesn't heavily feature white men from big institutions= is okay. Just one. You may have missed the fact that she tried to focus on= research not by the AMNH or Smithsonian or so forth. The MOR and the ROM w= ere the biggest institutions represented, and she tried to make sure many s= maller ones were featured as well (the Tate, Carter County, etc.).
Obviously this is more than your sweet little self can handle.
Additionally, Graslie states the premise from the beginning: it is to = show something of process of discovery being made and the people making it = in the places she grew up. Full stop. Never claimed that this was a remake = of Walking with Dinosaurs or Lost Worlds, Vanished Lives or whatever. Those= already exist. This was supposed to be a different kind of story.
And her attitude is a big feature on SciShow. Some people might like i= t, others don't. Your mileage may vary.
