More than a few years ago I listens to a truly brave and coherent
battler for freedom and truth spring from an unexpected apolitical, even
athestist source, who contronted the absurdity of conventional thinking
on Islamic fundementalism and social order. She was Ayaan Hirsi Ali and
her story, if your not familiar, needs to be read and understood. And
after that, listen to her many public debates and speaches. She might
be the astute political and social thinker of a generation. She is
always calm. She is always on point. She is always well thought out
and a proponent of freedom, civility and tolerance. In the face of
political violence, she has the grace and bravery to speak out.
Today I discovered another women of great fortitude, intelligence and
strength who speaks truth calmly and coherently...another atheist.
Another "liberal" (not left wing but a believer in liberalism), who
defends free speach, and finds hereself often in the opositions camp
because her liberalism leaders her to choices of freedom and individual
rights.
