What the fuck is wrong with the world. Forcing everyone to use Zoom is unethical, not to mention it is at best a crappy way to learn when your locked down.

Long Island University
Dear Members of the LIU Community,
Long Island University is exemplifying institutional agility and perseverance as the world grapples with the challenges of COVID-19. Resolve, dedication and resiliency have been critical to our efforts to deliver a high-quality virtual education to our students.
Our students are exhibiting remarkable fortitude and technological savvy in their new virtual environment. By moving seamlessly to a remote learning platform, students have adapted positively and embraced Zoom. They have gained agility skills that will help them throughout their lives and careers.
LIU faculty and alumni are also contributing to global, national and regional efforts in numerous ways, making headlines in the process. Examples of their exceptional work include:
* *Lisa Shultis,* director of LIU’s respiratory care program, shared her expert insight with national media outlets, including CNN, NPR and /The Huffington Post/. * *Brian Kilmeade (’86)*, Fox News, and *Lynda Lopez (’96)*, WCBS 880 in New York City, are keeping the public informed with the latest updates from around the world. * *Michael Ozanian (’81)*, executive editor at /Forbes/, is covering a number of the financial ramifications of COVID-19. * *Cary Epstein*, professor of health and physical education, is working on the front lines as an Emergency Medical Technician at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. * *Roger Luce (’85)*, co-host of the long-running WBAB radio show "Roger and JP," was featured in /Newsday/ for his efforts to foster unity amongst New Yorkers.
This impressive list represents only a few of the hundreds of individuals from the LIU community who are making a difference. We salute their heroic efforts, and express our appreciation for alumni who are first responders – firefighters, law enforcement officers, physicians, nurses, physician assistants, physical therapists, pharmacists and respiratory therapists.
The enterprising spirit of our incredible University has never been more evident. Each day, as I read new stories of kindness, generosity and camaraderie, I am reminded of what makes LIU such an extraordinary Institution.
Sincerely,
Kimberly R. Cline President
