Hmm, that's disappointing. I think the root of the issue is the cryptsetup stuff being called in shell within the execline script. I think I will just try redoing the script completely to be all in shell and no execline (it's way too complicated to actually write in execline).

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know. My setup was LVM on LUKS so the hook unlocked the entire device which was made up of different logical volumes.
