As you are well aware, Pesach is rapidly approaching. An unprecedented number of families within our community face this year’s Pesach with no idea how to address their core, basic needs. Last week I wrote to you about the Orthodox Union’s urgent Passover food campaign now underway to help families in need, particularly with the increased hardship due to the COVID-19 crisis. The response to our initial request revealed a manifestation of mi k’amcha Yisrael. It is heartening to witness community members give so much, even as we face crises of our own. The funds raised for this campaign are being distributed to communities around the U.S., whether via our network of shuls or Kosher Food Lifeline, through which food pantries will be able to serve an even greater number of clients in this time of great need – thanks to your generosity. With restrictions on travel and access to supplies for many, the need remains greater than ever, and so we ask that you continue your support of local maos chitim efforts in your community – and please donate to the OU’s Passover food campaign today.
