Dear Ruben, We pray that you and your family are in good health and are sa= fe. We are inserting special prayers from Hebron and the Tomb of the Forefa= thers and Mothers, for you, your family, and all humankind. Because of th= e Coronavirus outbreak, Hebron is facing an unprecedented challenges. 1) To= urism is down to ZERO. Our popular, weekly inspiring tour with Rabbi Hochba= um has been canceled indefinitely. The full buses of visitors, the Israeli = school trips, have all stopped. Tourists are not even allowed in the Ma=E2= =80=99arah. Our Hebron Heritage Museum has been closed indefinitely as well= . We have no revenue coming from tourism. 2) Government funding has been en= tirely cut off Government grants have been frozen since September because o= f the inability to form a coalition. We do not know when or if we will rece= ive that funding again. For the last number of months, the amazing donors o= f the Hebron Fund have been carrying the extra burden. 3) This would be cha= llenging in any situation, but even more so with PASSOVER around the corner= . More families than ever require assistance with the holiday and those tha= t received in the past need even more this year. Many of Hebron=E2=80=99s h= eroic residents have been put on leave without pay, have had their hours cu= t, or have been laid off. Most of Hebron=E2=80=99s Jewish community staff w= ill probably be put on unpaid leave. The Hebron Fund is the only major sou= rce of funding right now to the Jewish Community of Hebron. Our reserves ar= e running out. Hebron=E2=80=99s Soldiers are suffering The valiant soldiers= that protect Hebron have been informed that leave has been revoked, and th= ey are confined to base! After a challenging tour of duty, they cannot go h= ome to their families. We must provide them with morale-boosting activities= during this time. Crisis Management - with your help and God=E2=80=99s as= sistance There are many unknowns in the months that lie ahead, but one thin= g we can say for sure: The Jewish Community of Hebron will not make it thro= ugh this period without your immediate assistance. With your help we conti= nue to maintain Hebron; the essential activities, maintenance of buildings = and infrastructure, Passover assistance, and continue to support the commun= ity and the soldiers. Without immediate support, Hebron=E2=80=99s Jewish c= ommunity is in jeopardy, God forbid. As it says in Psalms 32: =E2=80=9CPrai= seworthy is he who looks after the needy; on a day of calamity the Lord wil= l rescue him.=E2=80=9D With the most costly holiday of Passover fast approa= ching and so many families out of work, we turn to you to help us at this e= xtraordinary time. Act now to help Hebron overcome this crisis - our future= depends on it. =EF=BB=BFClick here to make a special donation now. I= f you are mailing a check, please let us know so we can plan accordingly. *= ****NEW GUIDELINES******** per Israel Ministry of Health No more than 20 pe= rsons in the Ma'arah (max 10 in a room with social distancing) Tourists can= not be admitted until further notice Click here to Donate Video on the Scen= e Important update from Yishai Fleisher, International Spokesman for the Je= wish Community of Hebron, outside of the Ma'arat Hamachpela. Italy, Hebron = stands with you! Hebron community members and leadership recite prayers for= the health and well-being of the people of Italy and around the world. We = pray for a complete and speedy recovery and that you find strength in one a= nother during this time. **Please note that this video was recorded before = the Ministry of Health's policy of two meters social distancing** Seen on t= he Scene The streets of Hebron are empty. The Ma'arat Hamachpela is empty. = Hebron needs your support and connection now more than ever. Executive Dire= ctor of The Hebron Fund, Rabbi Dan Rosenstein, waits outside the Cave of th= e Patriarchs and Matriarchs in accordance with the Ministry of Health guide= lines, which limit entrance to the Ma'arat Hamachpela. We are grateful to t= he hardworking cleaning crew who are busy disinfecting a near empty Ma'arat= Hamachpela to keep soldiers, residents, and future visitors safe and healt= hy. Mazal tov to the Atara and Malachi Lerner! Long time neighbors in Kirya= t Arba, they had to switch their 'venue' to an outdoor wedding on their str= eet and then went to Ma'arat HaMachpela! The guest count may have been limi= ted, but the Mothers and Fathers were certainly there to celebrate! Family = members mark the 25th yartzeit of Nachum Hoss H"YD and Yehudah Fartush H"YD= who were killed in a terrorist attack in Hebron. Beit Nachum v'Yehudah, an= apartment complex in the Avraham Avinu neighborhood of Hebron, was dedicat= ed in their memory. May their memories be a blessing. Thank you to the sold= iers of Hebron! First, we should prove that performing an action at a specified time is = considered an element of unification. According to Gemara Brachot 7b, if on= e cannot pray literally in a minyan=E2=80=99s vicinity, nevertheless there = is value in praying at the time when a minyan is praying as it says =E2=80= =9Cand my prayer is unto You Hashem at a time of Will,=E2=80=9D and a =E2= =80=9Ctime of Will=E2=80=9D is when a minyan is praying.
