I was not talking about a particular person, but about projects in general. Also, see the "s" in "leaders". That was really meant to be a general phrasing.

Ok. But don't we want the GNU project to outlive ourself? To make sure that the next generations will have a free operating system?
I'm not saying that all current GNU packages should live on indefinitely. I'm saying that if we don't make sure to include newcomers to GNU packages, newcomers will not consider making their new software part of GNU, and the GNU project will just shade with time.
