I think I understand that, and I see what they are doing and they are not going to give you a choice. They are building a justification and aparatus for a clandestine government for the project, and they are bluntly saying that as they succeed, they will perform a coup and just ignore edicts from the GNU leadership, and rip the project from you.
This is not Gnome walking out on a speech, and you are not going to be able to negotiate your way through this. These people hate you, and they want to personally do damage to you and they will not stop.
What was desirable in October is not going to be the issue. They have thought this out careful and there goal is to sideline you and the GNU Mission. And if you don't make yourself heard more bluntly, it will unravel because the number of people who care about the core GNU issues, as always, are outnumbered by people willing to sell out.
You will find replacement coders and maintainers. They are all over the world, millions of them on the Indian subcontinent, and in the inner citys of North America. If need be, you will have to reach into universities and evelop them. You can not allow for a small band of coders from about Brdeaux to blackmail GNU and GNU.
In fact, I had a hundred foriegn stuents at LIU when I was in school, ready for you to meet and make an impact with, and we never found the time and resources to cultivate them. This problem wouldn't exist if we cultivated from targets groups of students which after 30 years are still not even touched! You have a permanent underclass dieing for involvement right under your nose in Boston. Black and hispanic student dieing to get a leg up and they can get a leg up by learning to code.
