No, it is not.  It is a classic example of downloading a page for reference

> I'd also point out that though the New York Times is freely accessible,

No it is not freely accessible, and regardless, it is my right to
dowload informaiton for my own purposed under fair use... and there is
NO violtaiton of copyright.  I know, I have lawyers on this, and we have
been in the copyright political arena for decades.

Aside which, that is not for you to judge.  You have zero standing in
this matter.

No, it is not.

You are accusing me of publically being a phishing site, for which I am
100% not doing and for which the facts of such are obvious, ad
reckognized by you, according to your own email.  It is NOT possible to
be a phishing site when the forms got back to the original publisher.
It is just copying existing links, and you admit yourself that the
artificial that originaled with the NY Times returns BACK to the NY
Times and that furthermore, that the link itself is dead, making it
impossible to phish anything.  Your comment about copyright, aside from
being legally wrong, has NO BARING on this conversation and nothing to
do with your libelous accusation towards me.

This is my legal notice to you that you are libeling me, and your email
that you are returning to me is PROOF that you understand that I am not
hosting any phishing sites, nor does my site pose any threat to the pubic.

You are being demanded to remove me from your database.  Please give me
the physical address of your legal department so I can follow this up
with legal notice to them as well.

I expect your next email to confirm that you are removing the libel on
your website and service immediately.

Ruben Safir

Ruben,
Thank you for the followup. We have checked the page, and the fact of
the matter is that this particular article doesn't contain an actual
article. The only content on the site is a form to sign up for an
account with the New York Times. Which leaves your site, which is *not*
the New York Times, hosting a page to sign up for the New York Times.
Even if the forms are inactive, you're hosting a page with every classic
hallmark of a phishing page. I'd also point out that though the New York
Times is freely accessible, you re-hosting that page without their
permission would technically count as a violation of copyright.

Moreover, we are not the only security engine flagging your site as
such, as you'll note here:
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/url/8558549f65bc08a97190b32358f91cd76c6745a047cb795e73562bd529b2c8ae/detection

You're *only* recourse at this point to get the phishing categorization
removed, is to remove the document in question, and I'd encourage you
doing so for any other log on pages you may be re-hosting as well. If
you're wanting to archive these still, I'd recommend doing so via
screenshots rather than hosting a copy of the actual page itself.

Your security team is very wrong.  There is no fishing links.  There is
a copy of a NY Time's article, as is the entire resources section, which
is nothing more than copies of political articles that I have archived
for decades.  ALL the forms you might see there are DEAD.

IN FACT, the form which is part of a NY Times article that was simply
archived whole in its original, untouched format, returns back to the NY
Times itself.

etc

A simple click of it by your "security" team would see that it is
completely inactive, and there is ZERO attempt to phish.  IN FACT, I
CLEARLY SAY ON MY WEBPAGE THAT THE RESOURCES DIRECTORY IS COPIES OF
ARTICLES FROM AROUND THE NET.

It would also be helpful if your security people knew just a little bit
of standard HTML before making libelous accusations at innocent people.

WHo can trust a company that can't read HTML, understand context, and
picks on innocent people.

You knee jerk reaction to an honest and personal website, is frankly
despicable and libelous.

Fix your errror.

Thank You

Ruben

Why would www.mrbrklyn.com be in your dog house for supposedly having
malware? That is a straight simple HTML based sight without anything but
static documents being fed by apache and mod_perl.

I have a SINGLE widget, a clock by a reputable source, that has
javascript. Otherwise it is 100% flat files, mostly pictures of kinds a
fishing., and linux user group meetings.
