Then don't look the other way. Stare right at the man because there is nothing he has done to embarass anyone. He has been the best voice for Free Software and welcoming to all groups of people without discrimination from the start. He has been a rock and mainstay that has anchored, not just GNU, but also entire software ecosystem, to the cause of freedom. The more you analyze it, the more you wonder how he has done this after so many generations. Without Richard as the bulkwork against the storms of digital tyrany, there would be no alternative to comericalized slaveware on any computers anywhere.
Look real close and the man, and you will see him for what he is. He has been all but a saint to the Free Software movement, and without him, folks would have watered down GNU years ago to a weird shareware company.
