A) It is always a mistake to think a mailing list can affect any real
world change... they are unimportant and this one is very unimportant as
it is a mis category.
B) I don't care about the moderation. I'll work around it. I will get
a record of the conversations on the NYLXS archive for future reference
C) Your not right anyway... sounding nice is not going to accomplish
anything in this case. You are dealing with bullies and bigots that
have up until now gotten thier way by being bullies and bigots. NOT
THIS TIME. Since Richard is not taking my phone calls after decades of
friendship, you can tell him that I said, NOT THIS TIME. This is not
the Gnome Foundation walking out on him and being cruel. This is a
direct attack on his personal integrety, and it reflects on all of us,
not just him. It is not just a civil rights issue, and a public
lynching, and an attack on "old white men", but it was/is criminal
libel. It is time for him to step up and vocally defend himself and let
the chips fall where they may. If he won't defend himself now, then he
shouldn't have been flapping his yap on a hot button issue 3 months ago,
fully awre of the kind of fall out it could create, even if he didn't
realize that he was being set up.
If people hate him more because we are speaking up about the injustice,
it is 100% not logical that by being quite they will come to hate him
any less. They just hate him. And most of them are anti-semetic
bigots, especially in that hotbed of hostility and bigotry in Bordauex.
They will not be satisfied until he is stripped naked and bare, and they
will then destory GNU and the FSF because they don't believe in the
fundemental principles, and they don't have the stomach to keep the
program on course in the face of critism and profits.
