Let me assure you that I understand how people may get offended. And I would like to assure you that I understand what you mean.
I just don't approve that one shall destroy communities for those opinions. It is not worth it.
Reason to destroy one community for the opinion that somebody was offended because joke was not politically correct is not valid reason.
I see in that new movement of "offended people" the intolerance, hate, ignorance of free speech. I see antisocial behavior.
It is fine to tell opinions, but it is not fine to go after people, defame, slander, commit illegal acts, ruin public events, ruin communities.
That movement has wrong values.
If somebody does not agree that for the sake of joke, one shall defame a person -- then person who does not agree is suddenly "bad".
There is simple fact that joke is a joke and not meant to be real. But the movement of people who are offended do not want to accept that fact. They inflate accusations because the joke was this or that.
But such activity is not helping GNU to become better. One cannot go after people stalking them to see who is telling which joke and then abusing them for reasons of a joke and then tell to their organizations to cancel a contract with them. It is cruel, abusive, even illegal in many countries.
To tell to organization like FSF to "remove" Stallman is illegal act. Please see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tortious_interference
Tortious interference, also known as intentional interference with contractual relations, in the common law of torts, occurs when one person intentionally damages someone else's contractual or business relationships with a third party causing economic harm.
To justify such acts with "jokes" which could "offend somebody" is immature or intentionally evil, maybe even psychotic.
Why react in such manner like somebody was hurt by the joke? It was not.
Why that movement of offended people are overreacting?
Then in my opinion, it is not the GNU project, but offended person who need to learn how to behave in a group.
We all have some personal individual problems and sensitivies, that does not justify to bring those problems onto the group of people, which in its own is formed for quite different purposes.
