Samuel, I fully understand your opinions.
A joke is not hate speech. Joke is not meant to be serious. Nobody hates virgins neither non-virgins for reasons of Emacs Virgin jokes.
Joke is not meant to be serious, it is a joke.
Hate speech is something different. I have got impression that you wish to say that hate speech is wrong. And I agree with you, hate speech is wrong. But jokes are not hate speech.
Hate speech can incite unpredictive or bully behavior, it can incite wars, hatred, division of communities, even people to get killed, assasinated.
But jokes are not hate speech. They are not meant to be and I don't see any hate speech in GNU community.
Your reactions are simply not in place.
I would stand with you to and protest against any hate speech.
Reactions of those people who signed the defamation and slander on: https://guix.gnu.org/blog/2019/joint-statement-on-the-gnu-project/ are exaggerated, not in place, not proper, they give appearance that there is some "hate speech" or "discrimination" -- but no people, it is about few jokes, you don't abuse people for jokes, especially not RMS. _______________________________________________ Hangout mailing list Hangout-at-nylxs.com http://lists.mrbrklyn.com/mailman/listinfo/hangout
