Dear Friend,

Thank you! As I've been reading and responding to the outpouring of support this week, I feel grateful. Though we may have come up short in this race, we have undoubtedly started a movement that has fundamentally changed the debate in my beloved city of New York.

On a personal note, I have a great career as a software engineer, and I never thought I’d run for public office. I agreed to take on this race because I love my country and I care about the people in my district. I believe that we should have leaders who focus on improving our lives and standing up for our interests. The gratitude I feel for having had this experience is huge. It changed my life, and it changed who I am.

I am so incredibly proud of what we were able to accomplish. I came to a gun fight armed only with a pocket knife, but we got almost HALF of the Brooklyn vote nonetheless (45%). And we won Borough Park in a landslide with 73%. These results are significant.

On Election Day, I felt so at ease knowing that I have the right people managing every aspect of the campaign. Everything had come together. The individuals involved have been incredible. Thank you to my team, and all of our grassroots volunteers for your hours of commitment. Help and support often came from the most unexpected places, and I am grateful for all of it. And thank you to everyone who donated to build up our campaign.

To the 34,000 people who put your faith and vote in me, I want you to know that it means the world to me.

This wasn’t easy, but it was most definitely worth it. Our campaign for U.S. Congress in New York's district 10 has only encouraged me to keep fighting.
