James H. Thompson, Qualcomm
Serving as=A0executive vice president, engineering for Qualcomm Technologie= s, Inc. and chief technology officer, James is responsible for global resea= rch and development activities associated with all wireless chipsets in QCT= , Qualcomm's semiconductor business, as well as overseeing the companywide = technical and product roadmaps across all business areas. Prior to joining = QCT, Thompson lead Qualcomm's Globalstar engineering team and was also part= of the team that developed the CDMA cellular standard. She has been a visiti= ng researcher at the IBM Research Laboratory (now Almaden) in San Jose, at = the Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation, at Rutgers Univer= sity, at Telcordia Technologies. Her recent research focuses on database se= curity, digital identity management, policy systems, and security for web s= ervices. YongXing is Vice President of Huawei Wireless Radio Access Technology Depar= tment and Head of MIMO and Spectrum Research Competency Center, currently w= orking on 3GPP LTE-Pro and 5G technologies. John Saw, Ph.D., is CTO at Sprint, responsible for=A0technology development= , network planning, engineering, deployment and=A0service assurance of the = Sprint network. Prior to Sprint, as CTO of Clearwire, he led the team that = built the first 4G network in North America, covering more than=A0130 milli= on people.=A0John has more than 20 years of wireless industry experience, h= as published over 15 technical papers, and has six U.S. patents in wireless= technologies. Recently, Dr. Saw was appointed to the Broadband Deployment = Advisory Committee by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman, Aji= t Pai.=A0He also currently serves on the advisory board to the Global TDD L= TE Initiative (GTI), an international industry consortium.

Dr. Thyaga Nandagopal serves in the Directorate of Computer & Information S= cience and Engineering (CISE) of the National Science Foundation. He is the= Deputy Division Director (DDD) for the Division of Computing and Communica= tion Foundations (CCF).=A0Prior to this, he=A0managed wireless networking a= nd mobile computing research within the Networking Technologies and Systems= (NeTS) program at NSF and contributed to programs=A0including Spectrum Eff= iciency, Energy Efficiency, and Security (SpecEES) and Industry/University = Collaborative Research Centers (IUCRC). Paul Tilghman,=A0DARPA
Mr. Paul Tilghman joined DARPA in December 2014 as a Program Manager in the= Microsystems Technology Office. His research interests include intelligent= and adaptive RF systems, digital signal processing, machine learning, wire= less communications and electronic warfare. Prior to joining DARPA, Mr. Til= ghman was a senior research engineer at Lockheed Martin's Advanced Technolo= gy Laboratories where he led programs in adaptive electronic warfare, signa= ls intelligence and non-cooperative geolocation, led the development of a r= eal-time cognitive electronic warfare system, which used machine learning t= echniques to characterize and counter previously unknown radio emitters on = the battlefield. He is a recipient of Lockheed Martin's highest award, the = NOVA award, and was also previously honored as the company's Engineer of th= e Year.
