One little known feature of SDF is our Voice over IP membership which allows
*any* SDF user to get a free SIP extension by typing 'maint' at the shell.
You can use your extension to explore the C*NET Telephone Collectors Network
and you can receive calls through our main number (206)299-2120 by providing
your assigned extension.
For those who would also like the luxury of being able to make calls just
about anywhere in the world, SDF has a 'flat rate' membership of $15/quarter
(3 months). And if you can't make a call to a particular number OR country,
please let us know on the 'bboard' and we'll see about getting access!
And now, more DID (Direct Inward Dial) numbers are finally available! We
originally only had 20 DIDs when we launched, but we have just now added
another block. So, if you are a current SDF VoIP member or want to join
new numbers are now available for an additional $9/quarter FIRST COME,
FIRST SERVE.
Dues can be sent via paypal-at-freeshell.org and be sure to include your SDF
VoIP SIP extension to be sure your place.
We have a daily conference call at 0200 UTC extension 1088 .. both free and
membership VoIP users are encouraged to join or listen on http://anonradio.net
If you are interested in hooking up old telephone equipment to SDF VoIP, please
post on the 'bboard'. There are several members having fun with ancient
equipment that can help you join in!
And have you ever even dialed (206)299-2120? Do you recognize the voice? Yes!
That is *THE* Voice of AT&T Mrs. Pat Fleet who graciously recorded custom SDF
voice prompts which are used in various places on our phone system.
