Like those who want you to fill in your SS# on job applications, when you haven't been offered a job yet. NEVER give it at this stage.
Everyone should know not to surrender their SS#'s before receiving, and ACCEPTING, a job offer. Only then are you required to give it.
Also, especially in Tech, many job listings are "phantoms", used by outsourcing / offshoring firms, who use your resume' / application to present when
Applying for H-2B visas etc. They use your resume' with an excuse why you're not qualified, claim they can't find any qualified citizens, therefore "give us the green cards".
