Shared hosts obviously are going to get into DNL BLs when one user
misbehaves suitably outrageously to get those hosts listed. What
I saw posted upthread was predictable whining and buck-passing in
response to a DNS BL doing exactly what a DNS BL is supposed to do.
I vaguely recall some additional complaint along the lines of 'We
curbed the offensive user behaviour, and followed the instructions to
get delisted but they won't do it.' Maybe -- but I personally doubt
that narrative, having heard it far too often about various DNS BLs, and
with too little credibility.
That having been said, it's proverbial that the people running DNS BLs
tend over time to become cranky and unreasonable (and then shut down).
They get that way largely because of incidents like this one between
'tarabyte' and the operator of SORBS (Matthew Sullivan):

Which forum thread reminds me: Saying an IP address (and, I'll point
out, you didn't bother to say _what_ IP, just 'panix') is 'in SORBS'
is almost meaninglessly vague, because SORBS operates _six_ DNS BLs
with different criteria and meanings: Spam Database, Dynamic User/Host
List (DUHL) Database, Proxy (HTTP/SOCKS & Misc) Database, Open [SMTP]
Relay Database, Vulnerabilities Database, and Zombie Database.
Next time, try being specific.
