Hello Ruben,
If your development pipeline includes a hardening phase, you're not working Agile. Period. Adam Auerbach and Topo Pal of Capital One say it plain: To realize continuous delivery, testing can't figure in after the fact. It has to be baked into all phases of the process.
At Velocity last year, Adam and Topo walked us through the core principles, tools, and best practices they adopted to transform their process at Capital One and build a better pipeline, founded on continuous testing.
Watch their full presentation (http://post.oreilly.com/rd/9z1z09mcjspgfe1ljdouqnggmu46gt8kaitrbjfc4uo) to learn how to tick all the boxes on the list of essentials: static scanning, unit testing, acceptance testing, performance testing, and security testing.
Cheers!
Mary Treseler Strategic Content Director, Systems Engineering and Operations
P.S. Learn best practices for designing and implementing a fault-tolerant infrastructure on AWS in a 2-day training course (http://post.oreilly.com/rd/9z1z5pre5s2cv9a88pv9lfcd2q7f7cpfvlrhi49r518) at Velocity with Stratuscale's John Sasser.
