But FWIW, the Naive User was and is most often RMS. And I am aware that stable is like slackware

The only time I have used debian has been when someone brings it to an installfest or when a guest brings it and currently I live with Trisequel on my desktop.
For 20+ years I was extremely happy with SuSE versions on my desktop
