I don't know how accurate this is as far as privacy strangulation goes. In the last year I've seen more user utilizing OpenPGP/GPG than in the last decade to secure their emails, this bodes well for privacy. Also an Antivirus software I've been recommending to people includes a tor node proxy with user data a scrubbing which again bodes well for privacy. While not all users have caught on yet some definitely are and this is a good thing. Also how useful is a "Dark Web" that leaks your information? Not very in my opinion! The best thing we can do is calmly and carefully educate people with real information. If we Saber rattle at every thing people will just write us off as crazy. The other thing we need to keep in mind is not every one will Care to listen and we can't force them to.
