Way to miss the boat, New York State has required sales tax on items
sold in NY for any company internet or not that has facilities in NY
State, this includes Amazon.
Most internet retailers have required NY state sales tax for many
years, the new law just tightens the rules to close a few loopholes.
this also should mean that our yearly income taxes get reduced because
we are currently taxed (and have been for the last 10 years) based on
the idea that every person spends $2000 a year on the internet without
paying sales tax unless you can prove otherwise. I have no problem
with this as long as they remove the older internet tax too, but they
probably wont.
