Damned straight.
Fortunately, as a DevOps person, I can say 'Here's approximately how I'd do it, and if you need a complete solution, I'd need realistic work conditions. Better yet, hire me.' And somehow, there is more realism about this for sysadmin positions than for coders, who continually have to pass those ridiculous hazing tests.
In _conducting_ interviews, I have a number of questions I like to ask, but all of them involve conceptual problem-solving, not rote memorisation.
