After reading those extremely entertaining articles, watch this
extremely entertaining movie:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thomas_Crown_Affair_(1999_film)
This is the remake with Pierce Brosnan, Rene Russo, and Denis Leary.
Do not confuse it with the probably-good-but-less-witty-and-different
1968 original with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway.
Faye Dunaway has a good cameo in the remake, as Thomas Crown's
psychiatrist. Rene Russo is superb.
Again, I don't want to oversell the flick, but my idea of a glorious
afternoon for company is a double feature of this plus The Usual
Suspects. Both are intelligent caper films, but differently
constructed.
Oh, another thing about both films: Both have excellent director's
commentary audio tracks, so if you want to see them a second time and
spot things you missed the first time, try rewatching with the
commentary track enabled.
Naturally, people who know something about art history will get just a
wee bit more out of The Thomas Crown Affair (remake). It helps to know
something about Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte and his habit
of painting anonymous-looking men in business suits wearing bowler hats.
