I think I posted a MS advet and the Q/A was MS marketing marterial.
They mention that they will protect patents on any of the "Opensource"
technology if you use Azure. Your outline of patents is spot on (as
usual) however there is definitely patent troll cases as from SCO. It
happens. It doesn't usually make the news, but it does happen.
