If you think FSOs are political hacks, you do not understand which
thousand-and-growing of about 7000 career embassy/consulate people
are currently putting their jobs on the line to say 'This is a really
bad idea.'
Late last year, 51 FSOs signed a similar dissent cable criticizing
Obama's Syria policy, and that was an unprecedentedly huge criticism
from career expert in pragmatic foreign affairs , but 1,000 of them
speak out now and you think these are just partisan hacks whose views
are no more significant than that of a Park Avenue doorman? Good luck
with that.
