Just wanted to follow up to say, your TV viewership figure was accurate,
but, hilariously, Sean Spicer's #SpicerFact that 'This was the largest
audience to ever witness an inauguration, period, both in person and
around the world' was not.
Dispreputable Commie rag _Forbes_ magazine had the story:
The numbers are in and, according to Nielsen, Donald Trump isn't
exactly the "ratings machine" he's claimed to be. Trump's
inauguration—the swearing in, parade and various balls—garnered 30.6
million viewers across the 12 networks that aired the ceremonies between
10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The largest share of these viewers (8.8 million)
watched Fox News, and the majority (19.2 million) were over the age of
55. Streaming is not included in any of these figures.
Using the same measurements, Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration drew 37.7
million viewers, which was the second biggest audience to Ronald
Reagan's in 1981. The first Richard Nixon inauguration and Jimmy
Carter's inauguration also garnered more viewers than Trump's. In terms
of the percentage of households tuning in, Trump was even further
behind, beating only George H. W. Bush when considering the first
inaugurations of presidents since Nixon.

I personally didn't see any importance whatsoever in Tsar Donnie's (and
Spicer's) dicksize war about Inauguration Days -- only in their
obsession with having bigger numbers because everything must be YUGE and
anyone who says otherwise must be the Lügenpresse and the 'opposing
party'.
Certainly, for the record, if someone had given me free tickets to the
inauguration and I'd been in town, I'd have been glad to attend. It was
free entertainment, even if, as Bill Maher said, the biggest difference
between Scientology and Donald Trump is that Scientology has better
celebrities.
