I'm afraid we've now lost her.
Mary had a couple of really dangerous and life-shortening health problems against her: Type 1 (juvenile onset) diabetes, which was diagnosed only in her 30s after a miscarriage. when she was found to have blood sugar of 750 mg/dl (normal levels being 100 mg/dl or so). After a divorce, she also worsened her situation with acute alcoholism for several years in the early 1980s (quitting in 1984).
Diabetes is, as I'm sure you know, a keystone health problem, and one that can lead to many other bad things as complications: blindness, nerve damage, kidney damage, loss of one's feet and legs because of poor blood circulation, hearing impairment, cardiovascular disease (hypertension, strokes, heart attacks), Alzheimer's, skin infections, etc. It's also highly damaging in itself (but much less if actively controlled), and I'm sure the heavy alcohol consumption for a few years made it significantly worse.
