OK - so just to pick this one item out of a long list of grievances, and in the spirit of dialog, I want to say that I've never been in favor of large trade agreements with 3rd world countries on moral grounds. We are just exporting the cost of employing people fairly and safely by using free trade as an end run around basic labor laws, and environmental laws that have been worked out with enormous struggle and compromise is liberal Democracies, and thereby enabling two-bit despots (included in that group is the communist party of China) by enriching them, making the world overall MUCH less safe, and far less free.
Imperialism and Colonials, IMO, has a better moral foundation, despite the inherent problems of the White Man's Burden. I prefer my despots under my thumb and dependent on me rather than peers on the world stage and economic competitors.
