Secretary of State Padilla's final (Dec. 15th) report on the November election reveals that _very_ few of California's 58 counties were stupid and suicidal enough to cast plurality votes for Drumpf -- and all of those counties had rather low populations.
So, I figure the five successor states replacing California would still have Democratic Party registrations outnumbering Republican Party ones by about the same 2:1 proportion with pretty much any drawing of state lines, _even_ without GOP-style gerrymandering of the type used in Project REDMAP to buy the biggest distortion of voting in history for a mere $18M and give the GOP control of the House of Representatives at least through 2020 despite being outvoted.
