It's a fairly popular place name. When you consider that it's usually bestowed on a census-designated place (i.e., wide spot in the road sans incorporation) on the water, that leaves open lots of possiblities, given that lots of small places have names.
There's a development of that name in Toms River, NJ, which is actually the closes one to the NYC metro area, I think.
There's the vacation rentals place on Hilton Head Iland, NC, a place in Alasa, a resort on the Oregon coast (near the town of Crescent), the place in Pennsylvania where the salt works was... and at least three places in California: a marina in San Diego, a beach neighborhood at the south end of Pacifica (south of San Francisco), and the best known, a place in the north coast of California ('Lost Coast' area), in Humboldt County.

Besides, if Ruben works really hard on his Split California into Five Pieces agenda, he could end up in the new State of Jefferson, which many proponents imagine would be a Galt's Gulch Randinista paradise. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_(proposed_Pacific_state) _______________________________________________ hangout mailing list hangout-at-nylxs.com http://www.nylxs.com/
