But first, are you willing to bet US $200 on it? I'd like to make some
money on this.
I'm willing to submit the wager to a panel of three people, one picked
by you, one picked my me, and one picked by the two people we pick,
to decide who shall be judged to meaningfully qualify as a Muslim 'cleric'
worthy of the name who is resident in the UK -- not just some
loudmouthed, mentally erratic shlub who is professed to be one.
If you're willing, we'll firm up details and make it official.
As usual, I really don't mind taking your money when you're going so far
out of your way to be an idiot in public. I regard it as therapeutic.
I find that taking someone's lunch tends to get his or her attention,
especially when I do it in public.

We should spare a few words to discuss what the term 'cleric' means in
the context of Islam, as it is pretty nearly meaningless and
problematically vague -- albeit not quite as problematic as the phrase
'Trump surrogage' that has been used by many to include loons like Carl
Higbie at the time of his appearance on Megyn Kelly's interview program
a week after he ceased being a non-managerial 'spokesman' for the 'Great
America PAC' 501(c)(4) created by Republican appratchiks Eric Beach and
Ed Rollins to shovel money at the Con Artist in Chief.
Since the abolition of the caliphate by Kemal Ataturk's government,
there has in effect been no hierarchy in Sunni Islam and almost all
instances of Shi'a Islam, plus other minor variants: It is radically
decentralised. The term of 'mullah' (Arabic for guardian, trustee,
helper) exists as a honorific, recognising someone deemed to have
considerable learning. However, as there are, to borrow Christian
terms, no Islamic bishops or archbishops or patriarchs or popes, there
is no central authority declaring believably that X is a mullah and Y is
not.
The government apparachiks of some Middle-Eastern and similar
Islamic-majority countries have been known to appoint and fund some
suitably compliant government mouthpiece at a central mosque and promote
that person as a 'mullah', but everyone locally knows who those are.
E.g., in past decades the Egyptian government had pet 'clerics' on
payroll to say what it wanted said.

I'm sorry, are you having reading-comprehension difficulties?
Try reading what I wrote a second time -- and this time, engage the
clutch to your brain before revving the motor to your mouth.
Start with focussing your eyes on the word 'not', which you further
embarrassed yourself by disregarding just before you went into all-caps
be-an-idiot-on-the-Internet mode.
