That would be a copyright violation, not "art theft". As far it being
unprofessional or insulting, that would strongly depend on ones political
philosophy. You should put your work under a creative commons license
or pull it from the internet, IMO.
I would say more about this, but this is not the venue for the
discussion of the merits of the currently insane copyright laws which
have all but ended academic libraries as useful things.
I do like openscience, and the work John Tennant is doing. You should
catch the wave of the future and look at it.
