whatever. The Germans and British were smuggling in trigger mechanisms and such to Iraq in the late 1990's and after desert storm.
FWIW, I'm not really interested in the documentation you drum up on this. I was alive and I was in the Military, and I remember ...
The grumbling from the UN was starting to rumble by bleeding hearts and pro-facists leftist Islamic commie punks to remove sanctions because of the starving children, and discussion that became mute once we attacked Iraq and occupied it. Attacking Iraq made all the little despots very nervous about US intentions and that was good. You can't maintain sanctions effectively for a long period of time, because you end up dieing of a million paper cuts, or circumvented by a power patron.
He threatened us, as many of them do and I don't feel the need to justify an attack on anyone who threatens us. And until the end he was claiming his prowness to develop such weapons and protected the infrastructure, and the research scientists needed, to ramp right back up the minute sanctions failed.
There was no reason to leave Iraq either. WE made this mess, not by attacking Iraq, but with the withdraw. When you withdraw then you have to arm and compromise with people you don't trust. That is how deals like the Iran deal happens, and how we armed Iraq decades ago.
And that is why we are having a new version of Vietnam slowly developing in Africa right now. It is stupid, IMO.
I'm pretty much done with this debate now. I have bigger fish to fry, like my thesis.
