Having the prisoner population balloon from 25,000 to around 130,000 --
more than a factor of _five_ -- while the state's population rose by
75%, is totally insane, and is the barest exterior indicator of the
system having gone bonkers for some decades. Fortunately, this is
slowly getting fixed.

They 'worked' by screwing up the administration of justice, creating
oversentencing and obviously wrong and arbitrary results that differed
greatly between similar cases, and also coming close to bankrupting the
state. Keep the day job, Ruben. You have absolutely no future in
public administration.
