So I think the important thing is the register on the CPU- 32 or 64 bit ? Your link does show 64 but I saw elsewhere 32. I'm not a hardware expert but I have concern that other components may be 32 bit-
Why are they using 32 in such a late model pc ? I know of an organization that just discarded all, less than 2 yrs. old 32 bit laptops just to go to 64 bit.

Definitely not 32-bit, I don't think Intel has made an exclusive
32-bit processor in a while. All i3/i5/i7 processors can run in both
x86_64 (64-bit) mode as well as i686 (32-bit) mode.
Secondly, most Thinkpads have been known to run Linux well and by
"capat" he probably meant compatible but that is my interpretation.
