Ruben,
I got Open Suse up and running not long after I got home ! Solution:
In the boot install script, 2 Script lines of code with a certain parameter, my notes are at home- append NOMODESET after a hard coded space on the end ( one line is a primary, and the other a secondary which may or may not execute (?));
Then there is another line with a field containing "openSuse ( & version number )", which causes some kind of authorization ID error ( I don't have the exact terminology in front of me here ).
That should be alternately re-tried as follows: change open suse to all caps, change to Tumbleweed ( version # ), if nether works, take out and left param field blank- which is what worked finally in my situation.
I also shut off Intel Speedstep to make sure it was not causing trouble. It is recommended to turn it back on after install, and test functionality again. CPU power consumption is higher when turned off.
Not to forget turn off secure boot, fast boot, and the setting hidden nested down in Control Panel power settings "Fast startup".
If anyone needs more precise info, give me a try.
