I cannot help noticing that you pointedly did not address my question. So, I guess the answer is no, you didn't bother. Which would be following your usual pattern.
Given a chance to do something politically smart, acting in a way that could sway the undecided, you typically don't bother, and instead shortcut directly to futile ranting. Which then lets you be easily dismissed with your message unheard.
Being on the right side but ineffective and self-parodying is (often as not) functionally indistinguishable from being on the wrong side.
But hey, it's important to feel self-righteous, right? Feels good to be outraged, and in contrast having any practical effect can go hang? It's a popular viewpoint. Delusional and sad, but very popular.
