Quoting Ruben Safir (ruben-at-mrbrklyn.com):

Docs wouldn't help you, because you've gotten yourself into a muddle.
Ruben, just take a deep breath and read what you wrote (above) -- attempting to see it from the point of view of anyone who is not you. Your account of what you did is so vague and incoherent that nobody can determine exactly what you did, from reading your account.
A good problem report would include details of events in chronological order with exactly enough data so helpers can follow along at home and have confidence it's accurate and didn't omit something crucial. Here, nope. Definitely not. You didn't even say specifically what 'try to use it' means, nor do you quote the specific diagnostic message when you say 'mutt compains [sic] there in not index file'.
As the Brits say, and omnishambles. However, I can guess part of your problem:
mutt doesn't use an 'index file' for any gpg operation at all. However, mutt does require such a file to find mailbox-address keyid pairs for _S/MIME_ certificate-based encryption.
So, whatever the hell you tried to do, you seem to have tried to order mutt to look up files required to send or receive mail (or sign something) using weird-ass S/MIME encryption that nobody with any common sense uses at all.
For the rest, start with https://www.google.com/#q=mutt+gpg
This tutorial is the oldie-but-goodie, even though it doesn't even get past gpg fundamentals and start discussing mutt configuration until section 14 (er, 'XIV'), 90% of the way through.
The top Google Search hit looks pretty good to me: http://dev.mutt.org/trac/wiki/MuttGuide/UseGPG
