five locations. As a Linux Systems Engineer you will design, build and
maintain our service delivery platform. You will provision Linux
servers, set up and configure NAS and SAN storage arrays, administer
VMWare infrastructure and manage Yodle Data Centers. You will maintain
monitoring systems and manage permissions and security. You will work
with the development teams to make the production environment both
stable and high-performance. Yodle practices Agile and Continuous
Deployment methodologies, and you will be expected to extend and
solidify those efforts. The Linux Systems Engineer will be joining a
fast-paced company in a high-growth market, and will help grow the
infrastructure accordingly.
Responsibilities
Deploy, configure, and manage Linux servers
Configure and administer a variety of virtualized (VMWare) environments
Configure and administer storage devices
Investigate and troubleshoot issues
Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
Create and execute scripts to perform needed system functions
Qualifications
Extensive Linux system administration experience (CentOS, Ubuntu)
Deep knowledge of Linux (file systems, network stack, etc.)
Extensive knowledge of VMWare vSphere
Working knowledge of the IP protocol suite and associated troubleshooting
Experience with application/server monitoring tools
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Experience with enterprise storage arrays
Data Center operations experience
Tomcat and/or JBoss exposure
Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python)
Mercurial/Git or other DAG SCM system
MySQL, PostgreSQL
5+ years Systems Administration
